A chunk of the South Rim with oak savannah on top, 3/22/06.
Looking off the South Rim, 12/31/04.
Boot Canyon, below the rim on the eastern part of the trail, 3/22/06. The grass is Muhlenbergia emersleyi.
A rock formation called The Finger (at least, that's what I call it), below Boot Canyon on the way back down to the basin, 12/31/04. Jana McFarland tells me that this is actually called "The Boot" and is the basis of the name "Boot Canyon". However, I will continue to call it The Finger.
Just below the rim near the top of Boot Canyon, 3/22/06. There was a controlled burn on the left side of the trail in the background, unburned grassland in the foreground.
