A shrubby Mexican species found in the Sierra Madre Occidentál.

Plant habit on the side of the road down the side of Barranca de Batopilas, Chihuahua, Mexico, 22 Mar 2007. The reddish coloration of the foliage is due to plentiful roadside dust.
