Melica porteri

A common grass at higher elevations. Superficially similar to Bouteloua curtipendula, though closer inspection reveals that the "flags" hanging from the main axis of the inflorescence are individual spikelets in Melica but primary branches of the inflorescence with several spikelets in Bouteloua curtipendula.
