Ambrosia monogyra

A shrubby species with winged phyllaries, often placed in the segregate genus Hymenoclea. Found from western Texas to southeastern California, primarily in washes.

Inflorescence with immature fruit in Percha Box east of Hillsboro, 5 Oct 2008. Most pseudanthia here are pistillate, but a few brownish, senescing staminate pseudanthia can also be seen.
